3 Ways to Show Your Business Some Love on Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day: a day widely recognized as a day to show LOVE. Although we can all agree that love should be given 365 days per year, there is absolutely nothing wrong with devoting a day to celebrate love in all it's glory! Being the business woman that I am, I felt that a day like today would be perfect to, not only show your devotion and affection towards a special person in your life, but to also give that same attention and outpouring of love to your business, which is just as worthy of a little extra TLC. Here a 3 ways to show your business a little extra love on Valentine's Day:  

Give Your Business a "Sexy" Makeover:

Visual branding is important. The way you present your business...your website, social media, marketing materials, etc., will play a key role in shaping a potential client's perception of your brand, and whether or not they will choose to work with you. Take a look at your current branding and determine if it accurately reflects the look, feel, and message that you want your business to convey. If not, it's time to give it a visually appealing, aka "sexy" upgrade.

Romance Your Hustle:

Often times, when you have romantic interest in someone, you pull out all the stops to show your love. You choose to date and spend quality time when you truly want to get to know someone and are looking toward a future with them. The same goes for your business. You have to put in the time and the work. Romance your business by taking it on regular "dates" to plan for your success. Get out of your regular work space and find a nice ambiance to really dig deep and learn everything about your business. What's currently working? What's not working? Where do you need to pivot and shift? How much money do you have coming in? How much is going out? Just like when you're dating someone new, you can't be afraid to ask the necessary questions. You can also use these business dates to determine your social media and marketing strategies, create quality content, and develop a solid profit plan for your business.

Don't be a Cheap Date

Trust me,  no one likes a cheap date! Just the same, your business will not thrive if you are a cheap business owner. Loosen up your pockets and invest in your business! It cannot, and will not, thrive in the "free zone"...you know, downloading all of the freebies, attending only free webinars and classes, and not putting in a penny towards your business' growth. It's just not possible. If you want to win in business, you'll have to get comfortable spending the money necessary to take it to the next level.

Remember, your business needs love too!

Recap: The List Tour Conference

If you want your business to flourish and grow, it is an absolute MUST, that you continue to invest in ongoing training, seek more knowledge, and learn new skills. 4 Tips for Following Up WIth Prospects

Did you know that so much money is left on the table, and business missed out on, simply due to not following up?!

Let me give you a couple of scenarios... - A potential client reaches out to you and are not ready to book at the moment. Do you reach out to them at a later date to see where they are with their decision, or wait until they call you back (which may never happen). - You submit a proposal (to book a gig, speak at an event, facilitate a workshop, etc.) A week or more has gone by with no response. Do you wait for a call, or do you reach out to the organization/person in charge? - You meet some really great people at a networking event that have the potential to be a customer, or possibly has the connections and/or resources you need to help take your biz to the next level. Do you contact them within two days after the event, or do all business cards end up in a pile of doom, only to be found months later with no idea who they are or where you met them? Does any of this sound familiar? Well, the good news is, there are a couple of simple fixes that can help you raise your follow up game, and make the process easy peasy! 1. To follow up with a potential client, create a simple spreadsheet or document that lists the name of the prospect, date you met/spoke on the phone, a brief note with important details about the consultation/discussion, and a follow up date (don't be afraid to ask the prospect when is a good time to follow up.) 2. When attending a networking event, don't simply collect cards. Jot down a short note on the back of those cards that you are interested in following up with, and something that will help you remember who they were (ex: lady with the red hat). Reach out via phone or email within 24-48hrs, as anything after that may cause them to forget you or your conversation. Remember, this person may have collected a ton of biz cards too. 3. Invest in a CRM software. This will allow you to schedule follow up calls or email, keep track of your appointments, and set reminders. 4. Be persistent, but not overbearing. It's totally ok to reach out to your prospects via different channels. For example, if a phone call goes unanswered, send an email as a back up. Don't write it off as the person not being interested and avoiding your call. If you are wondering why you don't have the amount of clients that you would like, start by taking a deep look at your follow up skills, and decide how you are going to improve upon them.

Excuse me while I get a little transparent for a moment... WHEN YOUR PASSION BECOMES YOUR PURPOSE If you would have told me in the early part of last year that I would be conquering my fear of public speaking by teaching live workshops/classes, I probably wouldn't have believed you. Yes, it was a part of my vision, but there was still a tiny little voice in my head telling me that it couldn't be done. Aside from my public speaking phobia, I was still battling self-esteem issues stemming from the way I walked after I was in a pretty bad car accident. But you know what, I pressed forward anyway. I tuned out that nagging little voice (it's a skill you learn once you become a mom), and I simply went for it. I say all of this to say, when you truly want something, there is absolutely NOTHING that can stop you. You have to kick fear in the face and tell your self-doubt that it has no place in your life. It has always been my passion to help others, but over the last few months, that passion has transformed into my PURPOSE. I know that I was brought here to serve others, and I am ready to accept that mission. I declare that I will use my gifts to inspire, motivate, encourage, and uplift others.
